The new VW Crafter is unveiled

This is the impressive new VW Crafter which has been given its world premiere.

Volkswagen says that the van brings a new dimension to the market and is more functional, reliable and economical than ever before.

The new VW Crafter is available in four base models with three lengths and three heights which means there’s a total of 69 derivatives available for what has been a popular seller for the German firm. The van has a maximum payload of 5.5 tonnes and has a bigger cargo volume of 18.4 cubic metres.

A lot to like about the new van

new-vw-crafter-is-unveiled-commercialvehicle-com-2There’s a lot to like about the new van which has a new chassis that’s been redesigned from the ground up with reliable engines that promise more fuel efficiency – VW says the engines will be optimised for better performance in urban traffic and for long journeys.

In the cabin, the driver’s workplace is more ergonomic and there are more driver assistance systems too. That’s not to mention the new ergonomic suspension seats which are part of its campaign for drivers to have healthier backs so some models come with a massage function while most have lumbar support.

Standard equipment for the new VW Crafter

Standard equipment for the new VW Crafter includes remote control central locking, electric windows

and storage spaces for laptops and mobile phones.

Volkswagen says it has redeveloped the Crafter from its customer’s point of view and the sixth generation looks set to continue its success with contemporary styling and dynamic handling.

There’s wide range of derivatives available including a panel van and Kombi and a high tonnage version. There are also single and double cab versions with different lengths and also the van comes with or without a super structure so customers wanting a Crafter with a tip up mechanism or as a pick up can do so.

New VW Crafter is available to order in November

The new VW Crafter is available to order in November with models appearing on our roads early next year. Prices have yet to be announced.
