Citroen has announced a multi-million pound investment into its specialist bodied LCV stock to help meet growing demand.

The cash will be used so businesses can buy topsides, Luton vans and tippers more quickly and nearly £2.4million is being invested.

The investment into the Citroen Business Centre network will also see the additional purchasing of 100 ready-bodied Relay Specialist models.

Citroen Relay Specialist models available

These models will include 40 Relay 35 L2 HDi 130 6-speed manual Tipmaster-bodied Tippers (£23,735 + VAT & delivery); 30 Relay 35 L3 HDi 130 6-speed manual Ingimex-bodied Dropside trucks (£22,440 + VAT & delivery) and 30 Relay 35 L3 HDi 130 6-speed manual Buckstone-bodied Luton vans (£24,970 + VAT & delivery).

These well priced and ready-bodied new Relay Specialist models will also be covered by the firm’s two years unlimited mileage warranty or a three-year/100,000 mile factory warranty for the chassis and conversion bodywork.

They will now join the extensive LCV stock being held across the UK by the firm’s business network.

Citroen’s head of commercial vehicles, Jeremy Smith, said: “We are putting emphasis on new Relay Specialist models and ready-to-run conversions as they are increasingly in demand from our growing SME customer base.

“These high quality converters provide efficient and productive ready body vehicles to suit a wide range of transport operations.”

Citroen also says the investment will help maintain the impressive momentum of sales since the new Citroen Relay was launched.

Electronic stability control now standard on Nemo, Berlingo and Dispatch vans

Meanwhile, Citroen has also announced that all of its Nemo, Berlingo and Dispatch vans produced since July will be fitted with electronic stability control as standard.

The move coincides with the launch of the firm’s new Relay and means that all models in their LCV line-up now have ESC fitted as standard.

In addition, Citroen have also improved the spec levels for the three van ranges including stop-start technology and gear efficiency indicator.
