While the all-electric Vivaro-e has been winning all the plaudits, there’s still a lot to like about the medium-sized Vauxhall Vivaro van. It’s a practical and well-designed vehicle that offers value for money.

The Vauxhall Movano van is the firm’s largest and was unveiled in 2021 – it’s a cracking vehicle for businesses. At the same time, Vauxhall unveiled the all-electric Movano-e which is much more expensive, but still as practical and well-built. The van offers a good payload, and it is easy to live with on a daily basis.

The Vauxhall Combo is a best-selling small van with a lot to offer businesses and private owners alike. The van is spacious and cheap to run, and there’s also the excellent all-electric Combo-e to consider too. The Vauxhall offering is based on the same platform as the Peugeot Partner and Citroen Berlingo but does have the edge in some respects.

The Vauxhall Movano-e completes the electric line-up for the British vehicle maker. It now sits alongside the excellent Vivaro-e, and the Combo-e to give firms and private users a great, battery-powered van to consider. While the headline figure of 139 miles of range is for the larger battery, careful thought needs to be given before opting for the smaller battery delivering 72 miles of range.

It’s one of the most popular small vans in the UK, and the new Vauxhall Combo-e builds on its sibling’s good points. There is a zero-emissions range of 171 miles and a useful load volume of 4.4 m³. Be aware though that the Combo-e uses the same platform as the Peugeot e-Partner and the Citroen e-Berlingo – so check prices and dealer networks before signing up.

It’s already won the prestigious Van of the Year 2019 award (along with its stablemates the Peugeot Partner and Citroen Berlingo) so is the all-new Vauxhall combo worth the coveted title? The short answer is ‘Yes’ and the influence from the new Peugeot ownership makes this an impressive new offering compared to its predecessor. The Combo scored more points from the judges than the Mercedes Sprinter, which was in second place and is an excellent offering. If you’re in the market for light commercial vehicle then the Vauxhall Combo should be on your shortlist.
